We are here to listen . . . not to work miracles.
We are here to help people discover what they are feeling . . . not to make feelings go away.
We are here to help people identify their options . . . not to decide for them what they should do.
We are here to discuss steps with people . . . not to take steps for them.
We are here to help people discover their own strengths . . . not to rescue them and leave them still vulnerable.
We are here to help people discover they can help themselves . . . not to take responsibility for them.
We are here to help people learn to choose . . . not to make it unnecessary to them to make difficult choices.
We are here to provide support for change.

Living Green is an adventure, as is this program–the music springs from lots of different kinds of growth, love and beauty, and contains some old favorites (“recycled material?”) and some new ones, as well.
Please come and share the adventure with us, while supporting House of Charity with your free-will offering at the door!

On February 12th, a group of 3rd graders from Calvin Christian School in Minneapolis gave up their classroom party to celebrate Valentine’s Day at our Food Centre. They decorated the tables, sang, danced, and gave out homemade cards to those who came for the noon meal. Their teacher, Ms. Niederloh, explains that she brings her students year after year “to take the focus off of ourselves during Valentine’s Day and put it on other people.”
House of Charity’s Food Centre is open every day of the year.
We have a “no questions asked” policy and serve anyone in need of a meal.
The House of Charity newsletter, Beats, is published periodically. Past and current issues are archived in
