Get a group of friends together and spend an evening making a difference in your community. Or plan an event with your colleagues from work. Below are a few suggestions to get you started. Hosting an event includes all planning and execution.
Ideas for your fund drive:
- Garage Sale
- Collect your loose change at the end of the day for one month.
- Host a benefit event with proceeds going to House of Charity. This is a perfect opportunity for corporate and community groups looking for a way to get involved.
- Skip one latte a day or week and donate the funds
- Birthday or Anniversary – ask that in lieu of gifts, make a donation in your honor
- Host a wine and cheese party in your home and have someone from House of Charity come and share our story. Let each guest make a donation of their choice.
- Challenge your friends to match our gift.

These are some examples of how your donation will provide hope and home:
- $25 provides toiletries for those using our public shower
- $50 provides two hours of case management to our clients
- $150 sponsors one public lunch for approximately 250 guests at our Food Centre
- $500 provides ink, paper, and other supplies for the computer center
- $1,000 provides two months of transitional housing and meals for one client
- $2,500 helps furnish a client’s room with a bed, chest of drawers, and wardrobes
