House of Charity started as a single house in 1952. However, as the number and needs of the poor increased, so did the need for more space. Today the "house" is our residential building at 510 South Eighth Street, where approximately 90 individuals reside at any one time.

How can I become involved with House of Charity?

There are many ways to become involved. Of course, we are always in need of financial support. Perhaps the most visible way to help is to serve a meal at the Food Centre. You can also help by teaching a computer class at the Computer Learning Center, donating personal care items or helping someone with their resumé.
