The
worship of God, though desirable as an end in itself, can
somehow never be in the right spirit, unless it impels one to
the service of man-

House of Charity could
not fulfill its mission without the generosity and dedication of
thousands of volunteers. Whether they are serving or donating food,
teaching classes or painting rooms, volunteers have a remarkable
impact on those we serve. Their willingness to serve their community
exemplifies the purest and deepest kind of charity. Volunteers create
a real sense of community and connection between people who are
simply at different places in their lives.
Each year, more than
4,000 people come to serve at House of Charity, contributing
nearly 10,000 hours of service annually. Volunteers come individually,
as a family, or as members of school, church or corporate groups.
Volunteers
can serve in a variety of ways. We invite you to find the service
opportunity that works best for you. To learn more about volunteer
